A few words about us: Muuuvi Fest began in 2004 due to the ambition of Selyem András and Aaron Balázs, at that time called “muuuvi – international short film festival“. The aim of the festival is to find the most original movie character, capable of winning over Kenny from South Park or James Bond from Agent 007. The festival is in the meantime a cinema-substitute for the 60.000 inhabitants of Gheorgheni. Since the cities cinema, “Miorita” closed it’s doors, they lost their connection to cinema. During the first four editions of the festival we showcased over 1000 short movies from all over the world; and well known filmmakers participated, from the United States to Congo, like M. Tóth Géza (Oscar nominee with his animation film Maestro) and the street artist BLU from Italy.

Since Muuuvi Fest reached it’s fifth edition and that’s a reason to celebrate, we changed the image of the festival and opened the way for other visual arts. From now on the festival’s official name is just Muuuvi Fest. We retired our cow with a camera, from the logo. Her five catchy daughters as mascots of the festival are replacing Her.

Don’t be frightened by all these changes, the parties lasting ‘till dawn stayed, this year we’ll have more DJ-s and different bands coming. And it will be more interesting since visual artists come from London and Tokyo. The outdoor cooking also remains, just right to spice up the long chats while having a beer. All this in the beautiful environment of the renaissance castle “Lazar” from Lăzarea/Harghita. The festival assures for those who choose to come with a tent a camping with sanitary equipment.

The organizers of the festival work for a long time to get everything right: Cultural Arts Center Lăzarea, Conference of the Hungarian Youth (Magyar Ifjúsági Értekezlet – MIÉRT), Youth Council of Gheorgheni (Gyergyó Területi Ifjúsági Tanács – GyTIT), Let’s See Cultural Association (Hallámssza Egyesület), Betyár Animation films Association (Betyár Animációs Egyesület), as the people working on precise tasks: Selyem András – Festival Director, Aaron Balázs – Art Director of the festival, Kassay Péter – Host, Jánossy Alíz – Press referent, Nagy Anna and Nagy Boglárka – assistant managers.

  1. miért nincs magyarul az oldal? 😦
Remélem összejön küldeni valamit. Tetszik a dolog. Azt lehet tudni, hogy körülbelül hány ember szokott résztvenni a buliban és, hogy milyen szálást lehet igénybe venni a környéken? ( – :
